PRISTINA, MARCH 21, 2023 — Kosovo connected its last remaining non-connected village to high-speed broadband internet today, achieving one of the highest internet penetration in Europe. This milestone is achieved with World Bank support.
Over the next five years, the Kosovo Digital Economy (KODE) project will scale-up and extend broadband infrastructure to 200 villages, home to a total of around 60,000 people in the country.
A school and a medical center, along with a few hundred private households in the villages of Pjetershtan, Dol and Kusar, were connected to broadband internet as part of a public private partnership pilot initiative in Kosovo.
WASHINGTON, July 5, 2018 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project: Kosovo Digital Economy Project (KODE) in the amount of USD 25 million.
