Abstract*

The Project, which would be the first stage of a program to rehabilitate cocoa production in the Western State of Nigeria, consists of the planting of about 16,500 acres of new cocoa and the replanting of about 27,000 acres currently under old cocoa trees producing uneconomic yields. A Project Unit, responsible to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Western State, would be established to administer the project and conduct soil surveys...
