Development Objective

The project's overall objective is to increase operational efficiency and safety on selected corridors and in the central areas of Hanoi and HCMC. To improve traffic flows by introducing a package of traffic engineering and management measures that will redesign junctions, provide new traffic signals and controls, segregate two-and four-wheeled traffic, and improve facilities for pedestrians. To strengthen the Transport and Urban Public Works Services (TUPWS) and Traffic Police Departments (TPD) in Hanoi and HCMC in areas of traffic management and enforcement with training and necessary equipment.
