The Uttar Pradesh Tubewell Irrigation Project in India will provide financing for the irrigation of water to regions that have insufficient precipitation, which are not within reach of canal irrigation systems. This project will consist of 530 slotted-pipe wells, and 270 strainer wells, which will be drilled to an average depth of 300 to 400 feet, and have an average capacity of 1.5 cusec.
