Pilot Female Literacy Project

Abstract*

The Pilot Female Literacy Project will support the first phase of the government's 10-year program which aims to reduce the illiteracy rate of the age group 10-39 years old from an estimated 55 percent in 1995 to 25 percent by the year 2005, and form 66 percent to 30 percent for women. The main objective of the first phase (1995-2000) is to lower the illiteracy rate to about 40 percent overall, and to 47 percent for women, by supporting literacy providers...
