Abstract*

The Education and Training Support Project for Cote d'Ivoire supports the sectoral strategy set out in the National Education and Training Development Plan (NETDP), for which one of the objectives is to achieve universal primary education by 2010. The project seeks to improve sector efficiency and school effectiveness, and to increase access to basic educational services in targeted underserved areas. Development Objective

The objectives of the Project are to assist the Borrower to resume the delivery of education services in primary schools, which implies: (i) providing quality school inputs to guarantee teaching and learning in classrooms, and (ii) improving access to education and retention of primary school children.
