Development Objective

The objective of the second phase of the APL is to promote progress in coverage of eight-year basic education and improved basic education quality by supporting the implementation of the Basic Education Program. The second phase of the APL will support the Basic Education Program during the three-year period 2002/03 - 2004/05. In particular, activities supported through the second phase of the APL will concentrate on increasing coverage and improving quality among the children of low-income families and children with special needs. The project will also continue to extend opportunity to a greater number of children to have access to Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in basic education schools across the country.
