Development Objective

The project development objectives is to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the Government of Macedonia's (GoM)socialsa fety net through (a) the introduction of conditional cash transfers; and (b) improvements in the administration,oversight,monitorin g, and evaluation of social assistance transfers. The project would contribute to the GoM's ultimateobjectives ofalleviating curr ent poverty and enhancing human capital, thereby reducing the inter-generational transmission ofpoverty over thelong-run.
