Development Objective

1) Enhance fiscal and debt sustainability, by supporting reforms to increase control on public spending and debt generation, reduce debt service burden and improve debt management, reduce financial vulnerabilities, increase public spending effectiveness, and fortify the country#s ability to cope with the adverse consequences of the on-going global economic downturn. 2) Increase the efficiency of public financial management and budgeting processes, by supporting efforts to improve the efficiency of public expenditures and investment, and strengthen control of public finances and the effectiveness of government budgeting practices. 3) Further strengthen Tax Administration and increase tax revenue generation capacity, through measures aimed at enhancing audit and control, improving client services for tax payers, broadening tax base, simplifying tax payments, and introducing greater uniformity in tax policy
