Community-Based Agricultural Productivity Project

The objective is to improve the productivity of diversified smallholder rice based production systems: agriculture, livestock and fisheries, increase volume and quality of export surpluses. The proposed development objective (PDO) is to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to develop and implement, best practices for improved agricultural productivity marketing and public expenditure management, leading to longer term agricultural growth and poverty reduction. The proposed program would involve three main components:(a) Productivity improvement for farmer groups in selected poor, rice based, border provinces with irrigation and supported by institutional development and counterpart funding;(b) Improved national strategy development in MAFF for public expenditure management, public administration and implementation of longer term extension, research and regulatory programs; and(c) Program management and coordination
