The India CAS, 2009-12, recognizes that while India needs to grow to reduce poverty and create employment, it also has an opportunity to do so in a way that is sustainable and preserves the country’s natural heritage. It also contributes to the Bank's commitment to secure additional sourcesof funding to support low carbon growth in India.
