Abstract*

The Kyrgyz Republic remains one of the poorest countries in Central Asia and COVID-19 has created a further set of challenges. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and policies to limit its spread, the Kyrgyz economy remains in a deep recession following a contraction of8.6 percent in 2020. Development Objective

The objective of the Project is to (i) improve access to basic municipal services; (ii) strengthen competitiveness of selected agriculture value chains; (iii) increase SME activities in the Batken region; and (iv) in case of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it.
