Sustainable Management of Ecosystems in Miombo Ecoregions of Zambia
Abstract*
Zambia has approximately 45.9 million hectares of forest, representing approximately 66% of its total land mass. In the entire Miombo eco-region, Zambia has the highest diversity of trees and is the centre for endemism for Brachystegia tree species - one of the Miombo woodland’s key species. The miombo woodlands in Zambia are a vast and diverse ecosystem that covers approximately two-thirds of the country's land area.
