Why is IDA issuing bonds?
Starting in 2018, IDA will expand financing to member countries by issuing bonds in the international capital markets. Since its founding, IDA has built an exceptionally strong capital base – the largest of any supranational issuer. IDA will optimize and leverage the substantial equity on its balance sheet to increase the scale of financing and delivery of results.
