Expressions of interest

 

 

The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Mining Sector Institutional Strengthening Technical Assistance Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include:

 

  • Research an internationally recognized best practice geotechnical laboratory either in Australia and New Zealand, and provide details of these institutions.
  • Assess the level of demand for the engineering geology/geotechnical services of the GSD to the government and the industry;
  • Assess the demand for environmental geology and mine auditing protocols in PNG.
  • Assess the level of demand for the geotechnical testing services of the GSD;
  • Advise on what additional testing equipment should be purchased by GSD (if any) in collaboration with DMPGM and the cost of same, and the technical specifications for each of the additional testing equipment recommended should also be prepared.

 

The Mineral Resources Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhancetheir qualifications.

 

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006 edition).

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 1st March 2012.
