Expressions of interest

The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has received a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Second Mining Sector Institutional Strengthening Technical Assistance Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include:

·         undertake a review and examination of targeted geological map sheets;

·         identifying mismatches and gathering all available data for each mismatched area by aligning the geology polygons and lines with an accurate topographic base;

·         undertake a review of all available data (topographic maps at a 1:100,000 scale; aerial photographs; satellite and radar imagery; and magnetic and radiometric data) for each mismatched area in order to resolve any mismatches. Identify and prioritize any problem areas that cannot be resolved; and

·         develop a method to resolving these data mismatches.

The Mineral Resources Authority now inviteseligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services.  Interested individual consultants should provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services: a covering letter introducing the consultant and providing a summary of relevant experience; a CV of the consultant detailing his/her qualifications and detailed experience (including the number of years worked and degree of responsibility held in various assignments during the last 10 years); and the details of two (2) referees who can attest the experience of the consultant relevant to the services.

An individual consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006 edition). This source can also be found at the web link indicated below.
