1.      The Government of Mozambique has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Transmission Upgrade project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Contract for Procurement of Mobile Substation and Transformer, Bid no.Enc.33/2014.

2.      The Electricidade de Moçambique E.P. (EDM) now invites sealed bidsfrom eligible bidders for the supply of 220 / 33 kV 25 MVA Mobile Substation and and 66 / 33 kV 50 MVA Transformer. The delivery of the Mobile Substation will be to Matambo Substation and the transformer to Tete substation, both in Tete province, Mozambique. Delivery time is 10 months.

3.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified inthe World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank's policy on conflict of interest.

4.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents in the officeat the address below from 7.30 am up to 3.30 pm from Monday to Friday.

5.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of anon-refundable fee of 500 USD (Five Hundred US dollars) or 15,000 MZN(Fifteen Thousand Meticais). The payment in cash to (EDM's Central Treasury Department – Tesouraria Central da EDM – at Av. Agostinho Neto N.70, Maputo Mozambique), or by wire transfer to EDM, EP's bank accounts:

         The Bidding Documents will be received at the address mentioned below after showing proof of made payment.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before September 19, 2014 at 2.00 pm local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.  One original and three copies shall be submitted as well as three softcopies on CD.  Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders' designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below on September 19, 2014 at 2.00 pm local time.

7.      All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 150,000 (One Hundred Fifty Thousand US dollars).
