REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
The Solomon Island Agriculture and Rural Transformation (SIART) is a World Bank funded project under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL). The World Bank finances the Project through a Grant and a Credit facility. The objective of SIART is to increase agricultural production and improve market access in selected value chains in 3 Project Provinces (Guadalcanal, Malaita and Makira/Ulawa), and in case of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to.
The SIART Project is structured with 4 components:
• Component 1. Agribusiness and Infrastructure Investments
• Component 2. Institutional Capacity Development
• Component 3. Project Management
• Component 4. Contingent Emergency Response Component
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) through its Project Management Unit (PMU), is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the SIART Project. The PMU will include resources to deliver SIART services activities, including work planning, reporting, budgeting and financial management, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, safeguards, capacity building and communication and provides progress reports, and financial reporting, in accordance with both Solomon Islands Government and World Bank requirements.
